Sue Collins
Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons) IVAS)
As a horse-obsessed teenager, Sue thought she would end up a horse practitioner working with racehorses. However, the lure of the Bendigo community was too strong and Sue has been working at McIvor Road Veterinary Centre since she graduated, too long ago to count. Initially, Sue worked as a mixed practice vet, seeing cows, horses, sheep, goats as well as small animals. As time went on, Sue bought the clinic and ran it for 18 years, concentrating mostly on cats and dogs. Sue's main clinical interests are sports medicine and acupuncture, and she does a lot of work with racing and retired greyhounds. At home, she has a menagerie of horses, cats, dogs and a chook. Since selling the clinic, Sue has been able to get back into riding her horses.
